A town only feels real when there's more than the shops you need.
The shopping district
Around the Printer Shop and Filament Shop there are now eight other shops, such as FreshMart, Brew & Co., TechSupply and StyleWear. You can walk into four of them. You can't buy anything there, but they bring the street to life. There are also parking bays, footpaths, bollards, planters, shopping carts and a café terrace, and the street lamps come on at night.
The buildings were modelled in Blender from concept art of the shopping district. The smallest model, a shopping cart, has 176 triangles; the biggest shop has 2,444.
A new laptop
The triple-screen computer from our 19 September post has been replaced by a rugged laptop, with a graphite shell, orange corner guards and a hinge that really works. It now also sits on the desk with its screen facing you. And because M now opens the map, you move objects with F.
