You start ProtoWorks at home, in an American suburb. This week that neighbourhood got a series of polish passes.
House and garage
- The front door and garage door really open and close.
- The garage roof poked through the bedroom floor. Fixed.
- The stair handrail is lower and slimmer, with more spindles.
- The sign above the garage now shows your own company name, and it's no longer mirrored.
The neighbourhood
The plots now have 73 groups of wooden fences, with an opening for every garden path. The parking area by the garage is back, with bay lines. The distance haze is tuned so far-away houses fade gently.
The mystery of the shifted world
In the editor everything looked fine, but in the built game houses stood in the wrong place. The cause: at startup the whole world shifts a little, but 5,844 objects were marked 'static', and Unity baked them at their old positions. We removed that flag, and a build check now prevents it from coming back.
Research sets your canvas
In the design editor you start with a small 5×5×5 canvas. Larger sizes, up to 25×25×25, are unlocked through research.
