From ten lawns to fifty. The old jumps between areas were huge: one minute you were on a football pitch, the next you were saving up for a city park that cost ten times as much. So we filled the gaps. The ten original areas stay where they were as anchors, and forty new ones sit between them, so every step up feels like a step instead of a cliff.

Five chapters of ten

The AREAS screen was built for ten cards, so it had to go. It is now split into five chapters, each with ten numbered cards:

  • Gardens (1–10): Backyard, Front Lawn, Allotment Gardens, Campsite, the school field, a petting farm and more.
  • Parks (11–20): Dog Park, Polder Dike, Cricket Ground, Botanical Garden, Castle Maze, Racecourse, University Campus, Vineyard.
  • Grounds (21–30): theme parks, palace gardens, racing circuits, safari parks and the Golf Course and Airport you already know.
  • Countryside (31–40): wind farms, festival grounds, tulip fields, alpine meadows and an island archipelago.
  • World Tour (41–50): County, Megacity, Small Country, Endless Steppe, Continent and World Lawn.

And then: space

World Lawn used to be the end of the line. Its description already said "The last lawn on Earth", so we took that literally. The last four areas leave the planet: Orbital Greenhouse, Moon Lawn, Mars Terraform and finally Galactic Lawn, a field of grassy asteroids at the end of the universe.

Every area has its own shape

Each new area has its own layout and its own character. Allotment Gardens is all tiny plots and narrow paths, so your robots drop to their smaller models. The Cricket Ground is a big oval with the pitch in the middle and a pavilion on the side. The Vineyard is long parallel rows, perfect for stripes. And the Castle Maze is exactly what it sounds like: a moat, a castle and a huge hedge maze that your robots have to find their way through.

Painted cards for all fifty

Every area got its own painted top-down card for the AREAS screen, in the same style as the original ten. No more mini-map placeholders: you can see what you are about to mow before you travel.

Under the hood

Your save game moves along with you: a new save version shifts your stored area progress to the new numbering, so nothing is lost. The balance tools now simulate all fifty areas, and a self-test paints every single layout and checks that there is grass to mow (1,397 checks, all green). The longer game from our last update builds on this: more areas, more upgrades, longer seasons.
