Your town is getting bigger. Literally: after the campaign the bridges open, and there is a whole world on the other side.
The Tool Depot
On Maker Street, next to Circuit Corner, the Tool Depot has opened its doors. This is where you buy the tools that make your work better: a calibration kit and a filament dryer for better print quality, sanding gear, a laser engraver, a recycler for failed prints, a 3D scanner, a smartwatch and an e-scooter (B) to zip through town.
The tool belt
Everything you buy goes on your tool belt (T). A leather belt with a brass buckle and a pouch for every tool. Tools you own stick out of their pouch, empty pouches show the outline of what is still missing. Point at a tool to see what it does, and if a pouch is still empty the belt shows you the way to the Tool Depot. We love how it looks.
Over the bridge
Grow your reputation and the bridge barriers go up. On the other side are four regions, like Westhaven, each with its own jobs, landmarks and a trust level that grows as you help the locals. Build enough trust and you can even open a ProtoWorks Store there.
Watch the weather, though: a storm can close the bridges for a day.
Your progress is shown on the ProtoPhone in the corner of your screen and in the new apps on your computer: Agenda, Regions and Trophies. And the Shop Levels no longer stop at 5. They now go all the way up to 20.
To be fair
The regions are still big empty areas with placeholder buildings, and we are still figuring out what makes each region feel different. Ideas are welcome!
