In our playtest, new players got stuck at the very first step: buying a printer. Not because it was hard, but because nobody had told them where the Printer Shop was. So the campaign now starts by showing you around.
Finding Your Way
Right after your first objective, a second card pops up: Finding Your Way. It shows you the city map (M), how to click a shop to set a route, and how to hop into the van. A blue line on the map and the minimap takes you there, and a glowing ring marks the shop your current objective needs. The Printer Shop lights up while you still need your first printer, the Filament Shop while you still need your first PLA.
Forgot how it works? The computer in your garage now has a Tutorials tab with "Getting around" and "Objectives".
Little things around town
- The mysterious brown cube in front of your garage turned out to be confusing. It is now a proper packaging drop-off box, with a lid, a strap and a label.
- The Furniture Shop finally has a showroom. Every piece of furniture stands on its own plinth with a name plate and a price, so you can see what you are buying before you buy it.
- No more posters floating in doorways or shop plinths running through the entrance.
- Crates now unpack where you put them, on the desk or on the garage floor, and moving furniture around is smooth again.
To be fair
The tutorial is still text on a card. A guided first walk through town would be even nicer, and that is on the wish list.
